Ohio Glass Museum and Glass Blowing Studio
Visitors are taken on a fascinating journey through history to learn how glass has been formed and transformed from ancient Egyptians to modern-day artisans. Guests also appreciate the important role glass has played in Fairfield County since the 1800s. The museum features unique items in exhibits that change throughout the year. On-site glassblowers and flame workers demonstrate their techniques. Visitors are encouraged to learn the craft during a hands-on class at the studio. The gift shop offers pieces created by area glass artists and locally manufactured items for the home.

Blown Glass Tumbler Class

Blow a drinking tumbler for dunking cookies into milk or something with a little more kick!

Pick your two favorite colors from the wall of 60 plus glass colors! With the help of your instructor, you will add those colors onto the surface of the clear molten glass. You will see your drinking glass take shape as you add your breath with a blow hose to inflate into a totally unique art glass cup! Final piece will be approximately 4-6 inches tall.

No experience necessary; ages 12 and up with adult supervision.

Your glass art will be annealed (cooled down slowly) and ready to be picked up the next day the museum is open. Shipping can be arranged for an additional cost at the time of your class.

All class-made glass must be picked up within 3 months of class time. If items are left beyond 3 months, they become property of the Ohio Glass Museum.

Blown Away on a Saturday Featuring Jonathan Capps

Renowned glassblower Jonathan Capps, known for his incredible work on Netflix popular series Blown Away, is set to headline an exclusive glassblowing event at the Ohio Glass Museum. This event offers a unique opportunity for enthusiasts and fans of the show to witness Capps exceptional artistry up close and personal.

The event will feature live demonstrations, allowing attendees to experience the magic of glassblowing and gain insight into the intricate process behind creating stunning glass drinkware. In addition to showcasing his skills from 6-8 p.m., Capps will share his expertise and knowledge while mingling with the guests from 8-9 p.m.

This ticketed soiree will include appetizers, a wine bar and access to the museum, gift shop, and glassblowing studio. Upon entry, you will choose a hand-blown stemless wineglass from which you will be sipping throughout the evening. This one-of-a-kind colorful glass is yours to take home!
