Marsh-Hallow/Shadyside Cabin

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the cabin. It sits on a beautiful piece of property and the backyard is really big. We played a bunch of yard games--cornhole, bocci, beersbie, and had plenty of space. We also had a perfect night to enjoy a good fire at the fire pit--plenty of firewood in the covered rack under the porch. The second night we sat in the hot tub after dark and it was really relaxing. Very quiet there. There's a loop trail behind the house that we hiked one morning. It was about 1 mile in the woods, with a pretty good climb. The inside of the house is nicely appointed. The accomodations were fine for the four of us. The kitchen had all the appliances we needed and ample space in the fridge--we brought food for all our meals, including cooking dinner on the gas grill both nights. There was a spare propane tank if needed. We ate all our meals on the back deck at the six person table. When the site says there is no cell service there, that's no lie. Zero Service--but on the other hand, it was kind of nice to disconnect from the world for a few days. The pictures on the website, and 360 tour are accurate. There could stand to be a little better direction on what to do with trash and recycling, but other than that, it really is a great cabin. We considered about four other places before we settled on this one from just searching the web, and it worked out great. Seemed like we were about 20 minutes from just about anywhere we wanted to go--canoeing, Cantwell Cliffs, Old Man's Cave, grocery store, Wal-Mart, etc. We would come back and stay there again--which I think is pretty high praise considering how many places you can rent down there.

Another perfect visit to Marsh Hollow

Ive been coming down to Hocking Hills for The Nelsonville Music Festival since 2010. Ive stayed at their Pinewood cabin at least 6 times a few times in the fall toobeautiful scenery!, and I decided to try their Cottage cabin, which is located right down the road from Pinewood. The road to Marsh Hollow properties starts the adventure right, with a scenic view and a hill that makes you feel like youre tipping off the face of the Earth, lol! The Cottage is private, and we felt like we were in a secluded park, all to ourselves. The cabin is immaculate, and very comfortable. Hot tub is sparkling clean, and perfect after a long day of hiking. Beds are comfy and blankets in top notch condition. Ive been taking my basset hound down with me, and she has a great time too! Pinewood cabin have an enclosed deck with the hot tub, the Cottage doesnt I did like that more about Pinewood, as my hound cant be trusted off leash and it was nice to have her on the deck with me when I was in the hot tub or eating on the deck. The Cottage is more spacious, and more comfortable if you have more than two guests theres a spacious loft area with a bed, bathroom, and futon that my friends kids were able to take over during their visit. Customer service is always top notch, Ive never had any issues before or during my stay. I look forward to many more stays at the Marsh Hollow properties! Thank you for the hospitality!

Marsh Hollow saved our anniversary
tido, Newark
Review Posted: May 27    Date of Visit: May
My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary in the Hocking Hills for the last 19 years. This year, we were about to postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic then decided to book a cabin at the last minute. Big mistake until Marsh Hollow came to the rescue! We were in the first horrible cabin owned by another rental company for 4 hours when my wife contacted John at Marsh Hollow. The Operations Manager John was amazing! He got us out of the horrible cabin and into the Pinewood 1 hour later, which is adorable and exceeded our needs. The Pinewood was only available that night and John was willing to move us to The Cottage the next day. We were able to speak with John about his extensive cleaning process using a CDC endorsed spray costing 80 per gallon. We felt at ease knowing THIS cabin was clean and well maintained. John went way above and beyond to make sure our stay was special. Little touches like robes, Weber gas grill and firewood made all the difference. It rained for 3 days but we brought a 10x10 pop up tent to put over the hot tub and we enjoyed hours of watching the birds and being with our dogs and son. I can't recommend Marsh Hollow enough! John has made a loyal customer out of us. Todd Melissa Camp
