Fri Jun 22

7:00 pm.

There is nothing like your first love. Wes Andersons acclaimed film, Moonrise Kingdom, is a coming-of-age story about young love, the thrill of youth, and the need for adventure. The year is 1965, and the residents of New Penzance, an island off the coast of New England, inhabit a community that seems untouched by some of the bad things going on in the rest of the world. Twelve-year-olds Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward) have fallen in love and decide to run away. But a violent storm is approaching the island, forcing a group of quirky adults (Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray) to mobilize a search party and find the youths before calamity strikes.

Beat the Heat: The Beatles: Yellow Submarine
Sat Jul 21

3:00 pm.

Join us during Ohio Brew Weeks Last Call festivities for a one-time-only, extra special return to Pepperland. Newly restored in 4K with 5.1 Surround Sound for its 50th anniversary, Yellow Submarine is a fantastic tale brimming with peace, love, and hope, presented today more complete and colorful than ever before. It is propelled by essential Beatles songs, including -Eleanor Rigby,- -When Im Sixty-Four,- -Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds,- -All You Need Is Love,- and -Its All Too Much.- When the film debuted in 1968, it was instantly recognized as a landmark achievement, revolutionizing a genre by integrating the freestyle approach of the era with innovative animation techniques.

Yellow Submarine was restored in 4K digital resolution by Paul Rutan Jr. and his team of specialists at Triage Motion Picture Services and Eque Inc. The films songs and score were remixed in 5.1 stereo surround sound at UMGs Abbey Road Studios by music mix engineer Peter Cobbin. Due to the delicate nature of the hand-drawn original artwork, no automated software was used in the digital clean-up of the films restored photochemical elements. This was all done by hand, frame by frame.
