12-7pm. Celebrate Appalachian music and storytelling at the Vinton County Airport. The annual family-friendly event features local and regional musicians, storytelling, crafts, delicious food, split-the-pot, and airplane rides. The jolly man in the red suit even makes an appearance. That's right, Santa stops by for a while to give candy to all the good little boys and girls. The event spotlights traditional and bluegrass music and even offers -Five Minutes of Fame- segments for individuals who want to stand up and sing a song. Airplane rides are offered for a fee, and there will be a classic car cruise-in this year as well. For the youngsters, there will be face painting. Plenty of food is available. Or bring a picnic if you like. Admission is free, but a parking donation is requested.
