Very quite and peaceful setting situated on 4 acres of manicured lawn. Spend time playing games or having a cookout. The large, spacious yard and fenced in area are great for pets and families to enjoy the outdoors. We have 40+ acres of private forest for our guests to explore. Our property sits adjacent to 1000+ acres of Wayne National Forest, great for hunters! The private, stocked pond is a great place to enjoy nature. .

I was looking for a space to gather three generations of family members from three areas of Ohio for Easter weekend to continue traditions set by my grandma, who passed away in 2022. The Chalet was perfect! It was clean & spacious. From greenspace for wiffleball games and egg hunts to the pool table, hot tub, and private pond with canoes, there was something for everyone, and the home easily accommodated everyone comfortably. We hope to make it a yearly tradition for making family memories!
Very clean, well funished,comfortable furniture
The lodge had everything we needed right there. Jacuzzi, pool the pond with canoes. My family had so much fun!!!
We loved the pool and firepit and the privacy.
It was clean, we had a few issues and they were resolved speedily. There was plenty of room and we enjoyed our own private pool.
My family ranges from 1 year old to 40. Everyone had an AMAZING time. So much to do right on the property. Super relaxing!
I loved the entire property. Its gorgeous inside and out. Clean and comfortable! However it was a very important family gathering. I was counting on the sauna and hot tub both in working condition. I was very disappointed neither was working; especially for the price.
The house itself was beautiful with plenty of room for our group. It had a well equipped kitchen and plenty of activities available on the property! I only wish we could have stayed longer or when it was warmer to make more use of it all!
The Chalet was beautiful. We celebrated Christmas there and it was a wonderful setting. Plenty of room for our party of 9 adults with room to spare. Kitchen well-stocked with everything needed for meal preparations. So comfortable and cozy with lots of room to separate too! 1st choice staff was friendly and responsive. Did not get to enjoy the outdoors had we had hoped due to extreme cold,, but hot tub was awesome and the grounds were lovely.. Really loved it...can't wait to return.
Our group stayed at The Chalet Lodge for a women's retreat. It offered plenty of quiet, no noisy dirt bikes/4-wheelers. The grounds were lovely and the interior held plenty of space for our Bible study and small groups gathering to visit all around the main floor. Dining table was great for eating and games. The fireplace was lovely to look at.
The Chalet was just amazing. Attention to detail outstanding. What impressed all of us was the warmth and caring of the owners. Friday night the night tropical storm Laura overtook the area some of our party got separated in the storm. Hail torrential rain lightning and thunder. almost no visibility. Your son in his pickup truck happened on a party member on his motorcycle lost. He took the time to find out which property he was staying, and led him to safety. All of us are eternally grateful fo
The Chalet is a very unique rustic property with an amazing stone fireplace that starts in in finished basement and continues up through the A Frame home. Nestled in 23 acreas this home is the perfect property for large groups. Very comfortable beds and furniture the large dinning room table easily accommodated our group of 11.
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Chalet. The cabin is huge! There are just more and more rooms. We were only there one night, but I can imagine spending an entire week and still feeling comfortable. Outside was also gorgeous. The only two issues we came across was first - the outside doors only locked if you locked the deadbolts. If you only lock the bottom lock, the doors would just push right open. When we first got to the cabin, two of the three doors were wide open. Which made us nervous
We were very well served in the Chalet. We had difficulty finding it, but once we were there we had a great time and all our needs were met. We especially enjoyed the ping pong table and had lots of good games while we were there. We also enjoyed an outdoor fire. There was plenty of room for our group of nine. The Chalet is close to Hocking Hills State Park, where we went for part of a day and hiked in the beautiful park.
So easy to book the rental of this cabin. Our family spent the weekend celebrating our parents 50th wedding anniversary and spent it all together in this large cabin. Couldn't have been better and we made so many memories!! The Chalet has so many rooms, ammentities and was very clean. We enjoyed the stories around the fire and we will cherish this memory forever.
Great place with lots of amenities. We had a fantastic time at the Chalet. Clean, accommodating, beautiful piece of property. If we go back, we'll stay here again. This was already our 2nd stay at this lodge.
What a wonderful way to spend time with family !The Chalet was beautiful with LOTS of room to roam . With 4 generations everybody found plenty to do ,not many fish in the pond but there are near by lake areas . Plenty of beds and baths for our group of 12.Very well equipped kitchen dining table is beautiful and huge . Gazing at the stars around the fire pit makes you realize how little you can see in the city .If you are looking for a place to just relax and enjoy nature this is the place to be
This place was beautiful. Definitely recommend for larger groups. Very clean with plenty of space to do things, whether it be the hot tub, pool table, or a bon fire outside. Plenty of parking surrounding the cabin. Close enough to make a trip down into town for anything needed. Will definitely come back here.
Our stay at The Chalet in the Hills was absolutely incredible! We had a very large group - 4 families including a few 13 year old girls and a bunch of preschool and kindergarten boys. It was perfect for the grown ups and kids alike. The kitchen had all the necessities. We brought along food and were able to prepare several meals for our group of 16 in the kitchen. The dining room table was huge (and gorgeous!), so we had some meals there and others on the covered porch. The A/C and ceiling fans
We rented the Chalet for our wedding weekend and it was the perfect choice for us. The property is gorgeous, although it may need a few landscaping updates, and there was an issue with ants, although in the woods that may just come with the territory. We kept our wedding small, so it held everyone on our guest list and let us spend the entire weekend celebrating instead of just an afternoon or evening. It was wonderful. The entire staff was so helpful and easy to work with!
We had our family thanksgiving at the Chalet and what an awesome home. There were 13 and there was room for everyone. The entire 3 generations loved it! Our only negative comment was what the kitchen lacked, no mixer, no vegetable peeler! We had to go out and buy a mixer for our mashed potatoes for dinner. The property was awesome and exactly as described online. We spent a spectacular weekend with our children and grandchildren and all will remember the weekend with great memories. Everyone lov
My family of 7 plus one dog just returned from 4 nights in this cabin rental. Very roomy and pet friendly (large fenced in yard to keep your pet safe and wondering too far). We enjoyed the property for walking, fishing, playing outdoor games with kids, fire pit, and relaxing. We were 25 minutes from zip lining, canoeing, hocking hills hiking trails, ash cave (our favorite), and many other family oriented activities. We brought and cooked all of our meals and never ate out one time. A small Kroge
The Chalet was more than we all expected. Nine guys from OU, who haven't seen each other in 30 years, had a blast at your property. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, saw deer on the property, played pool....It was great. Clean, lots of beds so no one had to sleep on the floor or couch, good kitchen. Top notch !! We would all highly recommend!!

When we first got to the cabin, two of the three doors were wide open. Which made us nervous until we checked the entire cabin. The second was an issue with the hot tub. There is a vent at the bottom of the tub under where you sit. Were assuming a screen cover was missing because it sucked two of our guests feet in. Overall, we had a great time and its a unique place to visit! We would stay here again if the issues were fixed.

Had a wonderful week long visit at the Chalet. Had a big family group in from out of town and they were amazed how Ohio had such amazing hidden caves to hike. The Cabin was great. thanks we will be back hopefully someday.

The A/C and ceiling fans kept the entire place at a comfortable temperature, despite the 90 degree weather outside. The living room was very large and comfortable. The bedrooms were beautiful and had plenty of space. We loved the downstairs because there was plenty of room to play. We couldn't hear the kiddos down there (which was good and bad!) and they loved having their own space to play games. Now on to the outdoors. It was nice having a fenced in area for the kids. They could also run around in the open areas of the yard, which were great for playing soccer and whiffle ball. We also enjoyed a couple bonfires by the fire ring. The pond had a ton of fish! We had a fishing derby, and one of the little ones caught 5 fish in a matter of minutes! The pond is catch and release, which was just fine by us. They mowed around a portion of the pond so that we didn't have to stand in tall grass. The property was very well maintained. We saw some wasps when we arrived, and the management was quick to handle the situation. They also stopped by with a blender within minutes when ours wasn't working. I didn't hear one complaint about The Chalet - which is pretty impressive among 16 people. Many thanks for sharing this special place with us! ~Cherie Peters

Each child had their own bedroom which they thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely look to stay here again in the future when we return to the area for some family rest and relaxation time.
