We stayed in the Dogwood room and absolutely loved it!! It was charming and quaint! The B B was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good!! All perfectly cooked and such friendly service!!! Check out was very easy. Walkable to downtown Nelsonville to shops, bar, bakery...We felt very relaxed and enjoyed this historic place!!! We will visit again!!
I loved my stay in Historic Nelsonville @ the Hyde House. It's a beautiful old home, clean and tastefully decorated. I stayed in the Dogwood room: bay windows, so lots of natural light, comfortable King-sized bed, chaise lounge, and clawfoot bathtub. All the little things had been thought of-- from the fleece throw on the chaise lounge, to extra basic toiletries. The breakfast Jennifer provided each morning was generous and delicious. She is a warm and thoughtful hostess, ready with suggestions of things to do and places to eat. I will choose to stay with her again, either at the Hyde House or in one of her cabin rentals.
Historical Hyde house is a beautiful home. The owners Bernie and Jennifer are wonderful hosts. The home is very clean and decorated with an eclectic charm of antique and transitional flair. The breakfast they served was simple and delicious. The home is located right next to the town square so you are close to all the restaurants worth dining at. I would highly recommend this B&B and will be returning on my next visit.
Large, Historic Victorian home (national registry) with about 5 lovely bedrooms prepared for guests- all with private baths. We were in the Dogwood Room, former master bedroom, and the bed and bathrooms were exceptionally spacious and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed. Enormous, hot breakfast, with fresh everything cooked by Jennifer, the owner. Enjoyed talking to some of the other guests in a family atmosphere. 20 minutes from Ohio University. 25 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park. Enjoyed the drive to the state park and forests on scenic byways. Probably THE most scenic area in Ohio.
Room was to our liking! Enjoyed the stay very much!
We had a great stay while we were there. The Dogwood Room was comfortable and very large with a great bathtub. The sitting area was comfortable, and breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day. Thank you for welcoming us to your B&B!
This is a charming house. Full of antiques and historic architecture and also very comfortable and clean. The only complaint I have is the missing chains on the wall-mounted tanks for the toilets. Not a problem if I were tall, but for a short person (or if I were traveling with a child), tip-toeing every time I wanted to flush could definitely be an issue. Also, this was my first time to stay in a b and b, so I was quite surprised that there was never anyone at the house to greet me or tell me what I had access to in the house. It would have been nice. That being said, I will recommend the Hyde House to friends and will be using The Dogwood Room myself again in the future.
