Welcome to Black Bear Hideaway: a 2500 sq ft traditional lodge with a well-appointed kitchen and open floor plan. Featuring covered porches, a 6 person hot tub, and fire pit. The lodge also boasts 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and accommodates up to 14 adults/children. The minimum age to rent is 25 w/ proof of id. For adult-only stays, we are capped at a maximum of 11 guests; and all adults must be age 25+. Regarding family friendly activities: you will find a generous and flat front yard on this dead end street, game room with foosball, air hockey, ping pong, board games, and large screen tvs w/ satellite. Just a short drive to Hocking Hills State Park, this bear-themed lodge is a terrific option for family gatherings. Will allow up to 2 small dogs (under 40 lbs each) for additional charges. No parties/events permitted. Hocking County lodging tax registration # 00153.

The staff was over the top on top of it! Amazing cabin. So clean!!! It was perfect baby!!!
This location was amazing from top to bottom, Very spacious and clean,. It came with all the amenities you could need for a great Weekend Stay
The lodge was clean and comfortable. Nathan came by to address one small issue and couldn�t have been nicer.
Such a great place to relax an chill or go for a hike! The cabin floors were alil dirty and the carpet needed a vacuum otherwise great place would stay again!
The cabin was very clean, well stocked, and offered plenty of space for group gatherings and privacy. The spaces for sleeping and the 3.5 bathrooms made traveling with middle school students possible! The setting was peaceful, quiet (never heard ANY noise), and allowed for lots of nature interaction. We had 4-5 deer in the front yard daily eating grass! The owners were gracious to work with our school group and we will definitely be back in the future.
The cabin was beautiful and well stocked. Everything was just perfect. We hope to stay there again.

The cabin was generally clean and there were lots of games/movies to entertain us on the rainy day.
We enjoyed the air hockey, the ping pong table, the hot tub, the fire pit. The house was comfortable, with plenty of room for 14 people to relax and play.
Loved the activities that were there for the kids to do-ping pong, air hockey and foosball tables. Lots of board games and a nice space for the kids to play. We all enjoyed the hot tub! Nice location to go to the trails and caves. Clean and enough space for everyone at the cabin. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds.
We had 8 adults, 3 children and 1 dog in our group and everyone felt right at home and had plenty of room and lots of fun. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The location is easy to find and made a wonderful fall family outing.
This house had everything we needed, and was very comfortable for our group of 10 adults.
My wife and I spent a week. Our adult kids and spouses plus one grandchild came for the weekend. We enjoyed the area and the facilities of the cabin.
The cabin was clean and well maintained. This was a family gathering and everyone thought the cabin was beautiful.

Black bear cabin was beautiful. We had 5 Adults and 9 kids. It fit us all comfortably. Our stay was mostly rained out but with all of the extra amenities the kids were well entertained. We loved the corn hole, air hockey and board games. I personally loved the wrap around porch and the views. Got to see deer in the morning during the sunrise. Will definitely come back again!
Black Bear Hideaway was exactly what we were looking for! The cabin was very CLEAN COZY. Felt like a home away from home! We had a smaller group of 10 people and there was plenty of room to have more! Very well done and will be looking to stay here another weekend soon when we can experience the gorgeous wrap around decks!
There was a large group of us 13 total who recently spent a weekend away in Hocking Hills at the Black Bear Hideaway lodge. Of all of our trips to Hocking Hills, everyone said that this was the best lodge they've stayed in. From the personal touches in every room, to the very fast responses from Jobie, our experience and overall stay exceeded our expectations. We would love to come back and stay at Black Bear again and can't imagine booking with any other company.
With the craziness of life right now we all needed time to unwind and relax! Being married to men that run a family company allows us to spend time together much more than most which we love!
Our stay was absolutely amazing! We had 13 people stay in the cabin and everyone was blown away by how nice it was! Jobie was wonderful to communicate with as she answered any and all questions I had as they came up. I would defiantly recommend staying in these cabins!
Our whole family had a wonderful visit to Hocking Hills, and the Black Bear Hideaway was the main reason. From the grill and fire pit to the stock of children's books and kitchen items, we had everything our extended family needed to ensure an awesome vacation. When we return to the region, we'll definitely be repeat visitors!

I booked my trip for the first time to Hocking Hills and did a lot of research before picking the right place. This cabin met all of my needs which were the ability to house a lot of people, a private location, and a hot tub. The cabin was located on a private road with other cabins within walking distance but the specific cabin we rented was private enough that the other cabins did not bother us. We spent the weekend at Black Bear Hide Away and had an awesome time. The location is great. Jobie was excellent, always answered any of my questions promptly. The cabin is large enough to handle a large group but it still has the cozy warm feeling. The black bears add a really nice touch. We will definitely return for another visit. Communication was clear and accurate before arrival. Upon arrival everything was found as described. Only one minor issue that was taken care of the same day we called. Nathan was very friendly and so was Jobie. This cabin is stocked with almost everything you might need other than the food. Large groups may want to bring paper plates or do dishes frequently. You can sit out on the porch swing and watch the deer and listen to the birds. There was something for everyone to do! Loved the master bedroom and bathroom! The cabin is very clean and beautiful! We're looking forward to going back again next year.

We loved our stay at Black Bear Hideaway! Though this was our first visit, we felt as if we had been here before because the pictures online were just what we saw when we arrived. Everything was very clean and all we needed to do was to move our things in and choose our rooms. One thing that we were not expecting was the rather large front yard where we were able to play some six-person games of frisbee each evening while some of us sat on the front porch to enjoy the action. After frisbee we were able to enjoy the hot tub and a nice fire in the firepit to make s'mores. We prepared all of our meals at the cabin and the kitchen was equipped with everything that we needed. Cantwell Cliffs is very nearby, but our favorite hike was to Conkles Hollow. The rim trail is quite near the rim and is probably not a good hike for young children, but the gorge trail is beautiful we were there in July. It was very cool even though the day was hot and everything was lush and green. We called it the Enchanted Forest because it felt as if we had stepped into another world. Hocking Lodging Company was very quick to address any issues that we had and we would definitely plan to stay here again when we return to Hocking Hills.
Our family loved our stay at Hocking Hills. The Black Bear Hideaway far exceeded our expectations. It was private and had so many wonderful amenities. There wasn't one thing that we needed that wasn't provided. We are already planning our next getaway. Customer service and communication was top rate and the cabin was so clean and comfortable. We highly recommend a stay here.

Air hockey, ping pong, fuse ball, darts and corn hole. In addition many board games available. Cabin was within 20 minutes drive time of any trail we could want. Beds were comfortable and rooms got really dark which made sleeping in easy. We cannot wait to rent this place again when all the major trails open back up.

On a negative note, the house number needs to be more visible from the road, over all the cabin was clean but there were a few areas that need closer attention inside drawers, corner floors. There is a large crock pot but the knob is broken off so you cannot use it. Thank goodness I had brought mine so I had one. We arrived after a snow fall and the porch, even though one path was shoveled to the back door, was extremely icy and dangerous. The rock steps as well with or without the snow on them.

The cabin was equipped with everything we needed so all we had to do was bring the food. The hot tub was very nice and able to be controlled by us to meet the temperature we wanted. The cabin was overall very clean upon arrival and everything was in working order. I only have two complaints about the entire stay. The first would be the stains that we found on multiple comforters in the cabin. It looked as though running them through the washer would have fixed this but still it is always unpleasant to find any stains on bedding. My other complaint would be that the cabin was not entirely secluded from other people. I was hoping to be away from all other guests. Aside from these two issues I was very happy with our stay. I did not take away any stars from the rating since I dont think it is the fault of the owners for missing some stains and of me for not fully establishing whether it was a remote location or not. I would suggest staying here again to anyone interested. The price is very reasonable if you can get enough people to fill the cabin. We had 14 at first but some bailed out and we ended up with only 8 people going and had empty beds. We could have easily taken my car for the trip as opposed to my truck but I could see where a truck would come in handy if snow was in the forecast. I would also highly suggest having all necessary food and beverages before arriving since the closest store is about 30 minutes away. We also had to drive 30 minutes to reach Old Mans Cave in order to go hiking but again that was due to my lack of understanding where the cabin was located
