Our Preserve and Creekside Cabins adjoin Saltpetre Caves and Sheick Hollow Nature Preserves, well worth exploring with free permit access, only 4 1/2 miles to Old Man's Cave. Our Elkins Pass Cabin is secluded on 72 private acres, surrounded by 16,000 acres of state-owned land, and 2 miles from Tar Hollow State Park. Breathtaking views of surrounding forest and wildlife. Cabins sleep 2-6, 2-12 or 2-16. Huge porches, fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace in the Preserve and Creekside Cabins, Jacuzzi tub at the Preserve Cabin, pool table at the Preserve and Elkins Pass Cabins, satellite TV, DVD player, gas grill, fire ring. Great for romantic getaways, retreats, hunting or any group gathering.

Let your cares melt away at this lodge-style retreat beautifully secluded amidst 72 private acres of natural woodland and surrounded by Tar Hollow State Forest’s 16,000 acres. The cabin contains a fully-equipped kitchen, large dining table, spacious front porch, outdoor gathering area, pool table, and a second-floor bunk house, flanked by two covered balconies, that sleeps up to 16 guests. Hunting is welcome on the property that abounds with deer, squirrel, wild turkey, and many other bird species.

The cabin was lovely and spacious. One improvement would be to add a washer and dryer. Other than the jet tub (brown water) no complaints at all.

Cabin is well stocked, all dishes, etc. as needed. Main floor bathroom sink does need a stopper/drain filter thing in it. Otherwise, it was as expected and will come back next year. Thanks. Basement is a bit cool, perhaps I did not know about heat down there. We did stay/sleep on main floor.

The river setting is great. You get the feeling for the entire Hocking Hills area right out of the front door with the river and cliff banks. The cabin is great. The kitchen and open living area is perfect for prepping meals. The loft style bedroom is great for a couple or a younger family (that doesn't require the privacy of bedrooms). The only complaint is the water. The well water smells like eggs. The softener either is not adequate or needs service. An iron filter would likely fix it.
