Blue Rock Station Earth Day with High Tea

1:00 pm. Ever thought about living a greener life or building a house out of tires, or cans or bottles? Blue Rock Station has and they will be offering tours of teh house as well as mini talks on strawbale construction, green living, making cheese, and solar cooking. Tour begins promptly at 1 pm. Reservations are requested. This 38 acre sustainability project is home to Ohio's first Earthship, a unique 2200 square foot living home, built from used auto tires, cans bottles, and strawbales. Farm buildings incorporate time honored building techniques such as thermal mass )using the earth to help heat the house), passive solar (the sun's rays), and adobe construction (using mud and straw) to create a comfortable and attractive place to live. Blue Rock is located just 20 minutes south of 1-70 Zanesville.
