The Covered Bridge Music Series is thrilled to welcome the truly exceptional Bonnie Bishop to the Wagner Theatre stage.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Texas (by way of Mississippi), Bonnie started out writing and performing more country influenced songs including -Not Cause I Wanted To- recorded by Bonnie Raitt and -The Best Songs Come from Broken Hearts- featured in the ABC hit show, -Nashville-. After taking a break from extensive touring, she went back to school and considered giving up a life in music when Thirty Tigers David Macias, and producer Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton) convinced her that she should make a soul album. It was a decision that would prove to be providential for both Bonnie and her audiences. In 2016, Bonnie released the Cobb produced, -Aina?Tt Who I Was- marking her triumphant return to a life that she may have once considered leaving behind, but clearly never left her.
Join Bonnie, along with guitarist Ford Thurston, for a memorable evening of dynamic music steeped in soul, blues, rock and country.
